While listening to the monthly Metafilter podcast today, we discovered that we have a partner in outrage in mathowie (AKA Matt Haughey, Metafilter founder), who’s big on bikes. He threw his vote behind plastering the shaming poster all over Champaign, IL (which, we are flattered and slightly tickled to hear, resembles NYC, at least in its sidewalks). Near Tragedy

After we looked at the video taken by the DSLR on my computer, I went to eject the SD disc. Nothing. No matter how hard I pushed, the locking mechanism wouldn’t disengage. Then I noticed that the disc was cracked. A. mumbled something about how he superglued it closed last time it cracked, and I started freaking out. The video was no longer on my computer; it was only on a marginally functional SD disc that was stuck in my SD drive. I dragged A. to Best Buy and made him promise that he wouldn’t bro-wink at the Geek Squad guy and tell him that they had to save it because there’s something Really Important on there. After 10 minutes of working at it with various hand tools, they got it out:

Paranoia

There have been no gummings since 6pm yesterday. We’re a little paranoid he saw the hidden camera or saw through the decoy bike.
